While living in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, Becky Kelso immersed herself in the rich cultural traditions of the country and began to explore the art of jewelry making. She served as an apprentice to local jeweler Billy King, honed her skills as a silversmith, and debuted her own collection in 1995 in New York City. Her jewelry is handcrafted on her farm in Sebastopol, California, by fellow artisans and working mothers, all of whom receive a fair wage, flexible schedule, health insurance, paid holiday, and sick leave.
